No matter how big or small your bathroom is, there are storage solutions available to help you make the most of the space available. Here are some budget-friendly options to help you declutter the bathroom on a budget.
Quick Tips to Declutter and Organize Your Bathroom
Before you start to declutter the bathroom, look around, and note the challenges you are experiencing now. Are the drawers messy? Is the sink cluttered?
Next, go through the items you currently have and throw away any duplicates or expired items. This will allow you to see what items you really need to keep and what you need to store.
8 Budget-Friendly Bathroom Organizing Ideas
- Add hooks to the walls and doors to hold robes, clothing, and towels. If you don’t want to put holes in the door, purchase an over-the-door rack with hooks instead.
- A hair-care organizer can hang on the inside of a cabinet. These are great for keeping your hairdryer, combs, and brushes neatly contained.
- Use drawer dividers to help separate items and to make sure that they can be accessed easily. Dividers will make it easier to find what you’re looking for.
- If you want to keep items on the counter, make them look nicer by placing similar items in a basket or on a tray.
- Be sure to store items where you use them. Those you use most often should be more accessible than items used less frequently.
- If you want to keep cotton balls, swabs, bath salts, and makeup brushes on the counter, look for inexpensive clear glass containers, and use a separate container for each item. It looks nice when you keep them in the same style.
- Create a space for cleaning products and bath supplies (soaps, lotions, tissues, spare rolls of toilet paper), and other items you don’t want out in the open).
- A lazy susan works well under a sink to store items and will keep them from getting lost in the back of the cabinet. There are also sliding drawer organizers that can go under the sink. Using one or more of these sliding organizers will double the amount of storage space in the cabinet under your sink.
7 Smart Bathroom Decluttering Ideas
- Place a trash can somewhere in the bathroom to stop clutter before it begins. Put a bunch of folded trash bags in the bottom of the trash can, so when you empty the existing one, there will be another one waiting for you.
- A storage tree or organizer hanging from the showerhead can hold soaps, shave gels, shampoos, razors, and a washcloth in the shower.
- Add a hamper to keep clothes and towels off the floor. If you don’t have enough room for a hamper, hang a mesh laundry bag from a hook on the back of the bathroom door.
- Find a place to store clean towels in the bathroom if you don’t have space in a linen closet. Folded towels look nice on open shelves or rolled in a basket.
- In a child’s bathroom, hang a mesh bag in the tub to keep toys tidy and mildew-free.
- Place a towel holder next to the sink for drying hands.
- A space-saving cabinet that fits over the toilet can store essentials and decorative items.
That’s It!
As you can see, it doesn’t take much time or money to declutter the bathroom, but it will make a huge impact on how you feel when you walk into the room. Be sure to purge items regularly to keep clutter at bay.
