Turn on some lamps

Area rugs help tie a space together. Yes, they can even be layered on top of carpeted floors. You can add some color, design, or both with an area rug and instantly up the comfy factor in the room.
Have yummy scents wafting through the air
There are multiple ways you can create an inviting scent in your home. You can use candles, plug-in air fresheners, motion-activated fresheners, wax melts, or boil herbs. Our memories are connected to our sense of smell, so make sure your home creates pleasant memories.
Add greenery
A few well-placed plants will do wonders for the coziness factor in your home. A large plant in a corner and a few small plants (real or fake) help make a room feel complete.
