Hi Juli, Thanks for letting me know about Duolingo. I’ll have to check it out. So cool that you and your child are learning a new language. I’m still working on Spanish. Thanks for stopping by!:) ~Leigh
I get most of my reading from the library. I’m in New York and the NYPL is one of my most treasured free resources in the city because I can go online and request what I want and pick it up at my local library.
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately browsing YouTube videos so yeah, there’s some great material there. But I didn’t know about all those free museum passes. Thanks so much for sharing.

You can watch free Movies on Primewire.ag. You never know where the movies come from so some people have an issue with it, but we have watched movies while they are still in the theaters on there and saved a bundle! You can also check out Hulu (the free version) and even YouTube has full movies sometimes. 🙂
I will definitely check out Primewire and YouTube. I had a Hulu membership in the past…can’t remember why I canceled. Thanks for your suggestions!
Nominated you for Liebster Award. Check out my blog for more info. http://pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com/2014/03/2nd-liebster-nomination.html

I had no idea i was eligible for 150 free museum passes each month with BoA! Thanks for sharing, I am going to look into this ASAP!
There are so many discounts floating around out there, it’s hard to know them all or even keep up with them. I’ve used this one a few times and it’s so worth it. Glad to help! 🙂
Love my library! I’m into two graphic novels that would cost me a pretty penny if I kept up with them regularly. Instead I can borrow them for a week from the library and enjoy! Plus it’s a great way to teach myself new things, like Microsoft Access or languages (will also have to check out the Mango Languages!)
As a librarian I can vouch for Mango Languages awesomeness. Thanks for pushing public libraries. They are a gem.
Daily emails from BookBub is another great way to get free/cheap ebooks!
Never heard of that one. I’ll definitely look into it. Thanks!
I love going to the library for books and DVDs. I will have to check out Mango Languages at my local library. I want to learn French and Dutch. Great post!
Hopefully Mango Languages is available to you. Thanks for your comment!
You’re welcome. I just checked and Mango Languages is available at my local library. I told my sister about it and we are so excited to start learning.
Yay! Felicitations! 🙂
Our library also offers DVD rentals and online magazines with a library membership. And I receive free HD television with my “rabbit ears” antennae. No cable or satellite needed!
I always forget about the free DVDs and magazines at the library. Thanks for the reminder! Also, would love to hear more about how you get free cable…we are currently paying $200/month! Hence the reason I’m always trying to save money! 🙂
Its not free cable but the networks broadcast in HD. Thus we get ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS, BBCamerica, and other stations for no cost.
Ahhh…gotcha. That’s a great way to get out of paying these ridiculous prices. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find a way out of this situation because of my husband’s love of sports! It’s his only indulgence so I guess I’ll let him keep it. 😉
