When people think about saving money on food, they usually think about saving money on their groceries. Well, today, I’m going to show you how to save money when eating out!
The only time our family goes out to eat is when we can save money when eating out. We receive free or discounted meals every time.
Here’s how we do it:
- Visit Restaurant.com. There you can browse restaurants in your area and purchase a $10 gift certificate for $4 or a $25 certificate for $10. Restaurant.com frequently runs sales, and I have been able to get $25 certificates for $2. Print them out and keep them in your car so you will always have them available. There is also an app you can download to your phone.
- Sign up for Groupon. This site offers 50-90% discounts for restaurants in your area. They also offer discounts for entertainment as well as goods and services.
- Visit your favorite restaurant’s websites and sign up to receive e-mail offers. Enter your birthday on those sites, and you’ll receive coupons for discounted or free meals and desserts the month of your birthday.
- Follow your favorite restaurants on Twitter and Facebook. A lot of times they will offer special deals to their followers that they don’t offer to the public.
- Eat out for lunch instead of dinner. You’re getting the same meal, just paying less for it. Depending on what you order, the meal could be a little smaller than the portion for dinner, but most of the time, it’s the same size.
If you REALLY want to save money, consider following a meal plan! Below is a 4-Week Dinner Meal Plan I created to help my clients out with meal planning for their families. This plan features 28 delicious family-friendly meals that can be rotated from month to month. It also includes a shopping list for all of the required ingredients, which makes preparing dinner a breeze! Click here or on the photo below to check out my 4-Week Dinner Meal Plan and you’ll never have to wonder or hear “What’s for Dinner?” again.
You’re welcome!
As you can see, there are many opportunities to obtain coupons and save money when eating out. Once the coupon deals start rolling in, you’ll wonder why you ever paid full price for a meal!

We have a coupon book my kids sell for their school’s fundraiser. I buy one every year, it always has BOGO coupons for lunch and dinner to some of our favorite restaurants. I bought the latest one in December and the book has already paid for itself and saved us extra! Thanks for sharing with Small Victories Sunday Linkup. Pinned to our linkup board, hope you join us again this weekend.

We use Groupon all the time and it has saved us lots of cash. You don’t even need to purchase it ahead, we always do that in the restaurant. No need to pay more if we can get it for less 🙂
