Last week I posted ways to save big money at Target and today I’m going to let you in on the secret to getting free items at CVS. I am always able to get free items at CVS just by using a few simple strategies.
Here’s how I do it:
- Apply for the free CVS ExtraCare Card. Having this card will allow you to receive the sale prices in the store. You will also earn ExtraCareBucks (ECBs) if you have this card.
- To earn ECBs you would check the CVS circular to see which items you need to purchase to earn the ECBs. After you purchase the item, the ECBs will print on the bottom of your receipt and you can use them like cash on your next purchase. It’s free money…doesn’t get any better than that! 🙂
- Once you sign up for your ExtraCare Card, be sure to sign up for e-mails and they will send you a $4 off a $20 purchase coupon.
- You can also earn $5 in ECBs for every 10 prescriptions you fill at CVS when you sign up for the ExtraCare Pharmacy Rewards.
- Whenever you enter the store, scan your ExtraCare Card at the Coupon Center and you will receive coupons on items in the store. These coupons are sometimes for free items.
- By using your ExtraCare Card, you will automatically earn back 2% of your purchases and they are paid to you quarterly on Jan 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. They will show online and on the bottom of your receipt.
- Join the CVS ExtraCare Beauty Club and receive $5 in ECBs whenever you purchase $50 in beauty products. You will also receive a 10% beauty shopping pass when you enroll and a $3 ECB on your birthday. Always check your receipt because you never know when you will have accumulated enough to earn the reward. I have been pleasantly surprised many times! 🙂
- Near the register, you will find small green tags on sale for $1. Attach it to your personal shopping bag and every time you use your own bag, have the cashier scan it. After 4 scans, you will receive $1 ECB on your receipt.
- CVS allows you to stack their store coupons with Manufacturers coupons. Check CVS’s website for printable coupons before heading to the store.
- If the item you want is sold out, ask for a raincheck and you can come and get it at a later date. The raincheck will honor the sale price and any ECBs that were originally offered. As you can see, there are many ways to save money and get free items while shopping at CVS. The key is to earn those ECBs and use them with coupons on items when they are on sale.
